✨ Analyzing Survey Comments in Power BI Using AI

How I used GPT-4 to extract themes, score sentiment, and build an interactive dashboard in Power BI

🎁PBIX included at the end of this article!

Organizations have access to an increasing amount of text data — which is super exciting as there is as well a growing number of ways for us to analyze and of course, visualize it😎!

However, I always find it alarming when all I see in someone’s report is a word cloud. Don’t get me wrong, world clouds can be fun and have their purpose, but we can do WAY better. This is not a high school project (I don’t even know what people are learning in high school anymore, but I like picturing a bunch of students completing some of their first coding projects and sharing their first “video games” or “world clouds” with their friends😅).

Let’s be real: if a CEO is expecting an executive summary of survey responses, we’re not going to share with them a line chart with response rates and a world cloud.

OK, enough about world clouds, in the following article, I’ll walk you through some of my ideas in visualizing survey comments in Power BI.
